Technical Standards
2010
The following
competitions are related to the skill competencies taught as part of the
Skilled and Technical Sciences Programs.
These contests are open to all
active SkillsUSA members enrolled in
Career-Technical Education Programs where the competencies and the activities
described in the Technical Standards are components of their Career-Technical Program.
The following contests
will be offered at the State Level and will reflect the 2010 SkillsUSA
Technical Standards. Typically
preliminaries for contests with more than 20 competitors on the Regional Intent form in January will be held at the Regional
level. If a Regional event is required,
the top 3 medalists in each Region will advance to the state contest.
- Please disregard
the requirement in the National Technical Standards regarding
Resumes. Only those contests that
use the resume as a part of a judged station as noted on the tool list
will be required to have a resume.
- The SkillsUSA
knowledge Test will not be given this year.
- Any updates or
changes of these Contest descriptions will be posted on the SkillsUSA Ohio
website.
- All leadership contestants (except Opening
and Closing) are to wear official dress, businesslike attire or school
uniform (no jeans). Opening and Closing must wear official attire.
- PROFESSIONAL UNIFORM ATTIRE FOR
ALL HEALTH CARE CONTESTS: In addition to specified uniforms attire
clothing penalty deductions will be cited for the following: tongue
piercings, all facial piercings, Artificial nails and nail polish, and any
visible tattoos. Health industry standards prohibit these items.
- All Skill Competitions may wear school
uniforms or appropriate work attire.
Must change for Awards Ceremony
- All Voting Delegates and Officer
Candidates must wear official attire.
- Gold Medal winners
will qualify to attend the National Leadership and Skills Conference as Ohio’s
representative.
